Tyler is the largest retail, medical, and business center in East Texas. It is also the Rose Capital of America and the location of the Tyler Rose Garden, the nation's largest municipal rose garden. Now that the BCS National Championship and the Super Bowl are behind us, it's time to look forward to the Winter Olympics and the Final Four! Check out our sports section for the latest information. There is lots of good news in Tyler, like the recent opening of the Grande Boulevard extension from Broadway to Paluxy, and the second extension from Paluxy to Texas Highway 110. If you're looking for a good place to take the children this winter, visit Brookshire's Museum and Country Store or the Discovery Science Place. Both are always worthwhile, fun, and educational excursions. Even with the downturn in the national economy, growth continues at a solid pace in the Tyler area, from the Old Jacksonville corridor to West Loop 323 and down U.S. 69 south. There is exciting news in upscale residential housing developments, with custom builders such as Kevin Humphrey Homes constructing new homes in Cook's Ranch, Graemont, Hollytree, Lake Tyler, Lake Palestine and other vibrant Tyler residential communities. Recently posted on the site are new photos of the Tyler Rose Garden, Gladewater, Edom and Love's Lookout. New sections showcasing the history of Longview, Marshall and Jacksonville became available in late January.
