  November 2008 in Tyler

Welcome to Tyler, Rose Capital of America, in the heart of East Texas in the Lone Star State.

Fall is in the air, and we had our first frost in late October. Tyler has been busy weatherwise recently, dealing with Hurricane Gustav and then Hurricane Ike.

If you're looking for a good place to take the children this fall, visit the Brookshire's Museum and Country Store or the Discovery Science Place.

It's a time of the year for big events in Tyler, including the recently completed East Texas State Fair, and the Rose Festival and Parade.

Growth is happening everywhere, from the Old Jacksonville corridor to west Tyler. There is also exciting news in upscale residential housing developments, such as the new home community at Cumberland Hills on Skidmore.
